Contact

I offer a free 20-minute consultation via Zoom or phone to discuss any questions you may have about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This provides the opportunity for you to briefly discuss the reasons for contact and can help make sure I am the right person to help.

FAQs

what is therapy?

As outlined by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, therapy provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk about your issues and concerns. I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others.

Please note that I will not give you my opinion or advice, or prescribe medication. Therapy is about supporting you to find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems (BACP, 2024).

I provide a non-judgemental space and warmth of presence for you to share whatever may be helpful for you to discuss.

what should i expect from my first session?

Our first session together is an opportunity for us both to introduce ourselves and allow you to ask any questions. It’s an opportunity for you to provide a history or more information about what brings you to therapy. I will ask you to provide some basic information, including your GP information. Your sessions are confidential and I will not contact your GP to inform them unless it’s an emergency and I have your consent to do so. We will review the terms and conditions of therapy (often referred to as contracting) which details how I work, confidentiality and cancellation fees.

how much does therapy cost?

50 minute sessions are £55. The length of therapy will be discussed and reviewed collaboratively. I can provide a concessionary rate for a limited number of spaces to students and no/low incomes.
